Mission and Values

Conduct Screenings

To conduct skin screenings for the general public, whether in fixed location facilities, or the Institutes own mobile screening facilities, to detect and advise participants of suspect skin damage or lesions that are likely to be or develop into life threatening cancers.

Disseminate Relevant Methods

To promote and support the establishment of similar projects to other Lions Association Districts within Australia and New Zealand.

Develop Training

To develop a training regime to have suitable persons trained in screening methods under the auspices of accredited training professionals to ensure accuracy and credibility in the screening outcomes.

Aid Research

To encourage, stimulate and aid research and investigation into causes of, and the treatment of all forms of cancer as appraised by the Institutes Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee, and as approved by the Board of Directors.

Monetary Assistance

To arrange or provide monetary assistance for and establish scholarships and make outright donations or students, medical practitioners, scientists and other persons for the purpose of research and study or for the purpose of teaching and demonstrating their professional skill in and knowledge of methods of treatment of cancer.

Raise Funding

To raise money by all lawful means and to solicit, receive and enlist financial or other aid from any source and to conduct fund raising campaigns.
